Fable review

Fable is an action RPG and was one of the first really great RPG's for the original Xbox. This is also one of the first Xbox games that made the good and bad choices matter to the storyline. Even still this game is one of the best RPG’s out there. It starts out with you as a child getting ready for your sisters birthday party when your village is attacked. You wake up not knowing what happen to your family. Being on your own you get recruited and decide to join the Heroes Guild. From here is where you decide to be good or bad. This is an open world game. People come to the guild to ask for help and favors. If a person needs help with bandits you can either defeat the bandits or you could help the bandits and rob people of their money. You can even buy property like homes to rent out. Once again good or a bad landlord. Do you charge a reasonable price or do you over charge make more money and have everybody hate you. You can even attack people on the road but if you kill the wrong person you might miss out on a quest.

The story flows great from one point to the next. It starts out simple “What happen to your family, But, you get pulled into there is a great evil and you are the chosen one” Fable action RPG elements are a mix of bow and arrows, melee and magic forms of attack. All three are different which we like and upgradable by collecting orbs by defeating bad guys and doing quests and there are tons and tons of side quests that will keep you interested in the game. We did as many side quests are we could at first they switched back to the story. But, if you wanted you can jump back and forth too.

There is great voice acting throughout the whole game and it took us around 20 hours to complete the intelligent brilliant main storyline. This includes doing a lot of the extra stuff but the game is based around doing side missions. You want to replay this game as a Hero and as The Bad Guy. That’s even more game to play. Since the Xbox 360 has sold so many systems over all we know that a lot of gamers are being introduced to the Xbox library for the first time. This must be part of your collection. You can still find this game on store shelves, online retailers or download it from Xbox Arcade and for PC's for $10.00. At that price it is a must have and Fable is a must own for all classic RPG gamers.
