The question Batman is always asking is what would happen if Superman went rouge. What would happen if the Justice League started to use their powers to not help the people of Earth but rule the people of Earth? Injustice Gods Among Us Batman’s fear comes true and now he is the only Justice League member left to try and stop Superman. One of the best storylines to come out of the DC universe is the idea that we live in a multiverse where there are infinite different versions of Batman, Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor and Superman.  In this world Metropolis is destroyed by Joker and Lois Lane is killed. This sets Superman on the path of world domination.

So we are big storyline gamers and the story mode in this game is one of the best things about the Gods Among Us. It feels like an interactive movie with almost two hours of CGI cut scenes with a worthy ending. Many of the same people who have voiced the characters from other DC movies and the animated series return and of course are once again outstanding. Both Joker and Green Arrow have some funny dialog and the storyline clarifies how could Nightwing or Harley Quin hit and knock Solomon Grundy or Super Girl out cold since there is a bit of a strength difference between them.

This game has five different level settings so it does not matter if you have never played a fighting game before or if you have been playing them your whole life you can still find a setting for your style. Controls and combat are smooth and at times very fast plus some of the backgrounds are interactive. You can hit someone into the Phantom Zone or pick up a car and throw it at them. It is as much fun as you think and it never gets old. Our favorite is letting the patients of Arkham Asylum teach your opponent lesson.

Besides the story mode and the straight up fighting online or between friends at home you have 20 different Battle Modes to try and 240 Star Lab Missions to play. Both the Battle Modes and the Star Labs Missions are different versions of challenge maps. Each requires you to do something different to win. The Battle Mode we like the most was is the Classic Mode because with each Hero or Villain you play and get to the end there is even more storyline elements to watch. They are only a couple minutes long but it is still fun and something extra that keeps you coming back to the game.

We did not find a lot to complain about when it comes to Injustice. It looks great with some of the new updated costumes and there is playability from the most experienced in-depth fighting gamer to the first timer.  There is a high replay value here and even the ending credits are cool and intriguing to watch. Easily worth paying $60.00 under for. You get a lot of game to play and let’s face it DC superheros never get old.
