Gamer Myth: November 10, 2014 A new way to get 99 lives in the original Super Mario Bros?
In June of 2014 rumors started to surface that someone found a new way to get 99 lives in the NES and arcade versions of Super Mario Bros. The original 2D Mario Bros. game hit arcades and the Nintendo Entertainment System back in the mid 1980’s. The Super Mario Bros. game has sold over 25 million games. We were able to confirm that this rumor is true! The YouTube channel Games Haya has posted a video showing how to do it. It is a bug in the game that allows you to get 99 lives and it is really complicated and requires you to play as two players but it is cool to see that classic retro games are still finding a way to bring something new to the table years later.
