The original theme song to Super Mario Bros. from the mid 1980’s has a happy fun loving sunny day theme to it. At a time where space was so limited in not only arcades but 8bit Nintendo cartridges that things like songs with lyrics were not possible. But, we always wonder does the Super Mario Bros. theme song have words to it. The answer is YES! Destructoid has translated the lyrics into English and there may be some parts that have gotten lost in translation but we were happy to see that the words are just as much fun and happy as we hoped!

"Do do do do do do do do do,
DO DO DO DO DO DO DO DO DO,
do do do do do" "
Da da daat da daa dee daa da da, da da daa da da dat!"

Original Lyrics

Today, full of energy, Mario is still running, running
Go save Princess Peach! Go!
Today, full of energy, Mario runs
Today, full of energy, jumping!
Today, full of energy, searching for coins
Today, keep going, Mario!

Get a mushroom - it's Super Mario!
Get a flower - it's Fire Mario!

Goomba! Troopa! Buzzy Beetle! Beat them all!
Mario is always full of energy and strong!
