Final Fight | January 27, 2015 Nintendo, Xbox, PlayStation
Final Fight is a 2D beat’em up that is just like other arcade games of the time. Double Dragon in 1987 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 1989 to name two. Many of quarters found their way into its belly when Final Fight was released during the arcade days in 1989. The thing we love the most is the Totally 80’s flashback storyline. Mike Haggar a former professional wrestler and Metro Cities newly elected mayor suddenly gets a word that his daughter who looks like every blond woman dancing in a Poison video is kidnaped by the Mad Gear gang. Mayor Haggar has no choice but to take matters into his own hands rescue his daughter and take back the streets of Metro City. With the help of Cody his daughter’s boyfriend who happens to be a martial arts expert and his best friend Guy who is also surprising a martial arts expert set out to take on the Mad Gear Gang and finally take out their leader and save Metro City.
To get through the whole game takes somewhere between 1 and 2 hours each time from start to finish. It also has high replay value because it is just fun to play once in a while. Final Fight is a standalone game on Virtual Console from Nintendo for $7.99 and that is a bit pricey. It is fun to play and easy to pick up but there are so many other great games you can buy for $8 and if you never played it before it is a hard sell at that price. Keep you price under $5 is worth it under that price point but it does not go on sale very often on a Nintendo system. You can get this game for your Xbox and PlayStation but it comes in a bundled with another game call Magic Sword for $10.
