Konami Classics Vol. 1 Review | April 8, 2013 Xbox 360 Exclusive Title
Konami has had so many great games over the years it is a surprise that it has taken them so long to put out a classic game collection. Just based on the Castlevania series alone you could put out two or three game collections together. Despite having hundreds of different games to put together Konami instead decides to put just three games in their VOL 1 collection leaving us felling empty and wanting more.
Why won’t Konami just give us what we want? This game collection comes with only three games Super Contra, Frogger and Castlevania Symphony of the Night. Every other game classic collection has at least 12. The Capcom and Sega collections have in some cases over 30 games. Plus, all collections are about the same price, making only getting three games from Konami fell like a money grab. Super Contra does not feel like old school Contra. You beat the game in under 15 minutes. Frogger is Frogger, enough said.
The diamond in the rough is Castlevania Symphony of the Night. SOTN was one of the best games of all time for the PS1. Even still the storyline, the gameplay and the characters still makes it worth a buy and makes many new so called better games look like a waste of money. As much as we love Castlevania Symphony of the Night the other two games are way below average. If you can get Konami Classics Volume Classics for under $15 its not a bad price but You might be better off just downloading Castlevania Symphony of the Night for $10.00 or less because SOTN is a must own game!
