NES Remix 2 Review | April 27, 2016
Nintendo Exclusive Title

Picture
NES Remix 2 brings together classic Nintendo games and uses them for a collection of mini challenges. Some of the challenges are just a few seconds long while other requires more thought and time. NES Remix had the same idea but for the most part that game used NES games from the early Nintendo days while NES Remix 2 uses games that came out during the middle and end of the Nintendo Entertainment System days like Super Mario Bros. 3 and Zelda 2 The Adventures of Link. This is a great use of the Nintendo library and playing some of these games brings you back to the good old days.

We enjoyed NES Remix but some of the games did not resonate with us. This however is not the case with NES Remix 2. All of the mini challenges are based on games that we have fond memories of playing and we could not be happier with the selection a classic Nintendo titles they put in this game. As the series moves forward so did the games. In NES Remix 2 most of the game came out during the late 80’s early 90’s. During this time the controls from Nintendo games started to get real good. Many early Nintendo games were a little sloppy and were slow to respond. Since the Remix games are an exact copies with better graphics this means that the controls in Remix 2 are also the better.

NES Remix 2 took us around the 5 to 7 hour mark get through and replay is a about average. After you win all of the challenges and get a 3 star rating for each of them there is no real reason to go back and play the game anymore besides reliving past games. There are 12 games to play unlike NES Remix, which had 16 games. There is less to do and there are less challenges but the games are better and the controls are much more responsive. NES Remix 2 has enough to do to make paying under $15.00 worth it but just barely. Like the first game we think under $10.00 would be better. We want to give this game a higher score but there is just not enough to do to give a higher score. With the Nintendo now getting into tablets and smartphones NES Remix 2 is a perfect candidate for those systems. We spent as much time playing on the gamepad as we did playing on our TV that is why we think playing on a tablet would be fun.
