NES Remix Review | April 27, 2016 Nintendo Exclusive Title
Nintendo likes to find new ways to use their large library of older classic Nintendo games. NES Remix Pack has over 200 challenges to play. The collection has the first two NES Remix Wii U games as part of the collection and not the 3DS version. NES Remix has 28 classic games from the original Nintendo Entertainment System from the late 80’s early 90’s. Nintendo was smart and uses some of their best games in this collection. It has both NES Legend of Zelda games, several different Mario titles and lots and lots of Donkey Kong. Plus, famous one hit titles like Ice Climber and Kid Icarus.
Both NES Mix games have their pros and cons. NES Remix has 16 games and Remix 2 has 12. NES Remix has more hours of gameplay than Remix 2 but the controls are not as smooth. Many of the challenges in both games only take a few seconds to win, while the others take more than one step and a little more time to figure out. All of the challenges give a rating between 1 and 3 stars. The more stars you get the more challenges you get to unlock. None of the challenges are that hard to figure out. We did like the games and challenges more in Remix 2 because the controls are a little better.
Time through the two games varies great between 10 to 15 hours. To get 3 stars and unlock everything will add a few more hours. The controls are exactly the same as their NES counter parts. This may be good for nostalgic reasons but some of the 8 bit Nintendo games had terrible controls. There is also 44 hidden bonus stages. Replay is just average, you may want to try and get a 3 star ranking but after you go through all of the challenges there is nothing else to do. NES Remix Pack is worth buying $25.00 for and if you find it under $15.00 it’s a MUST BUY PRICE!
