Lost in Nightmares DLC Review | May 25, 2014
Xbox, Windows, PlayStation

At the start of Resident Evil 5 you notice right away that Jill is missing. Chris has a new partner name Sheva Alomar and she is excellent but we still wanted to find out what happen to Jill. Lost in Nightmares is a prequel to Resident Evil 5 and it tells the story of how Jill was lost and where was Chris at the time. There are flashbacks while you are playing Resident Evil 5 but it does not give you a clear picture. Jill and Chris got a tip from the BSAA that the founder of the Umbrella Corporation is hiding inside a mansion in Europe. Finally the man behind Umbrella is about to be captured.

SPOILER! We are assuming that you have already played RE5 since you need that game to play this DLC. This means that you already know that you do run into Jill in the game and you end up saving her. Lost in Nightmares tells you how she disappears in the first place. The game plays the same as RE5, there are no controller, camera or aiming issues at all. There is some great dialog between Jill and Chris talking about things that happen from Raccoon City to the current problems that they are facing and they are exploring a mansion that has the same look and feel of the original Resident Evil game on the PS1. We did like this DLC but it has a major flaw, it is only about an hour long. If you wanted to you could get through the whole thing in about 30 minutes. Great storytelling elements but needs a lot more gameplay to make it worth it. Don’t spend more than $2 for the DLC. It does have replay value but the normal asking price is too high and you can get better DLC or even full games for $5.
