Bioshock 2 DLC Minvera's Den Review | October 27, 2011
Xbox 360, Windows, PlayStation 3

Picture
The year is 1968 and you are revived lying under the ocean outside of Rapture. You are a Alpha Series Big Daddy designated Sigma and a man name Charles Milton Porter (C.M. Porter) is directing you to retrieve “The Thinker” a super computer that was designed to run all of Rapture. Porter and a man named Reed Wahl created this computer but Wahl stole it after he framed Porter for treason and claimed that he created The Thinker by himself. So it is not a surprise that Wahl is also in Minerva’s Den trying to stop you. Now with the help of Tenenbaum and Porter you need to find you way to the Thinker and get it out of the fallen city of Rapture but why is this computer so important?

Minerva’s Den take place in a section of Rapture that is all new but it has the same insanity that you expect from a Bioshock game. Right to the point this DLC is better than most full video games.  The controls, combat and camera are all just as good as other Bioshock games. Some of the same concepts return like defeating Big Daddy's and protecting Little Sisters to gain Adam. If you have a Little Sister with you and you run into one of the Big Daddies he will attack you. Big Sisters are also in Minerva’s Den and the more Little Sisters you save or harvest them, the more battles you have fight with these super bosses. You get most of your weapons and plasmids very early on in this DLC pack and it  gives you three new areas to explore. Minerva’s Den took us almost 7 hours to finish the first time through. This also includes exploring all of the optional areas and solving extra side missions. The replay value is very high and a brilliant ending makes this a worthy DLC for Bioshock 2 gamers. It is a must buy and worth $10!
