If you are a fan of visually stunning games and you love 2D side-scrolling adventures then Trine 2 was made for a gamer like you. This game takes place several years after the first Trine game but if you did not play that game don’t worry this one will still make sense to you. You get three different characters, Amadeus the Wizard who can make objects appear and move things with his magic. Pontius the Knight has a sword and shield for blocking attacks and having his fellow adventures stand on. He also has a hammer he can throw for attacking and open blocked off parts of the level. Then there is Zoya the Thief. She has a grappling hook and a Bow & Arrow for hard to reach foes. The three are called together by the Trine for an adventure to right a wrong. Goblins are attack all over the land and they keep talking about a being call “The Witch”.

This game is more than a 2D side-scrolling platformer, it is also a action adventure and puzzle game. You can play up to three players but you can also play in single or co-op. This means that there is several different ways to get through the whole game. Each level can be explored differently depending on how many people are playing. It seems like there would be to many styles but they all work together and makes you want to unlock everything that you can find. The controls, camera and targeting are all perfect. This makes the whole game have this sense of movement and flow, Trine 2 really has a focus on game physics and everything has this weight to what is happening. Boulders move slower than boxes, the game has several areas where water plays a huge part and it just feels right, like if you are waiting for the water to flow and it takes its time depend on the slope of the hill.

Let’s mention again the game is graphically beautiful all the way through. Even levels that take place in a stone castle or caves for some reason are eye catching. It is a 2D game with a 3D fell. The details are smooth and the game play is addictive. You will lose track of time because you just want to get to one more save point. The voice acting is exceptional from the actors playing the roles of the Knight, Wizard and the Thief to the voice over who is updating you on the storyline elements. The story itself is rich, deep and intelligent. You want to find out what is happening and why. If that was not enough good things about the game here is one more, it adds RPG elements to upgrade the three adventures making replay more fun because you can get to items that you could not reach the first time threw the game. It is worth paying under $15.00 for. Sales happen all the time under $5.00. MUST BUY PRICE under $5.00.
